Instead of Fear: What God Gives You When You Let Go of Fearনমুনা
Day 3: Just Remember
Rich lost his job. Again.
For the third time in seven years, Rich found himself filing for unemployment. Old anxieties about paying the bills began to rise up. How would he feed his family? Would they lose the house?
But this time Rich stopped to remember. And with each memory from those past experiences, his fears were replaced with a steadying confidence in God’s faithfulness.
The first time he lost his job, Rich was devastated and felt that his whole life had come crashing down. He and his wife were forced to sell their dream house. It was a tough loss, but looking back, he saw that they never wanted for food or a place to live because God provided through the generosity of others.
The second time was a struggle too, especially when he had to take a job that wasn’t nearly as good as the one he had before. It wasn’t easy and again his family had to cut back a lot of things that made their lives comfortable. But still God provided for their needs.
Remembering God’s faithfulness in the past puts your present situation into perspective.
If you’re facing uncertainty, there are going to be some challenges ahead for sure. But instead of letting fear steal your joy, tap into the confidence builder of rejoicing in the ways God has been (and will be!) there for you.
Look away from fear and look forward to His faithfulness.
Things to Ponder:
- Do you remember a time when uncertainty was in front of you? How did God show Himself faithful?
- Think of a few ways God could use you to provide something for someone else in need.

About this Plan
Over and over in Scripture, God says “don’t be afraid.” But He’s not being trite, saying “just stop being afraid” and leaving you to figure out how or why. Each time, He offers something empowering. Discover what God wants to give you in exchange for your fear to help you move forward through difficulties, overcome despair and step into His plans with confidence.
