4 Keys to a Vibrant Prayer Lifeনমুনা
KEY #3 - MAKE PRAYER A LIFESTYLE
Even though we’re talking here about daily devotional time, I have to mention that prayer shouldn’t just be limited to this one time per day. We should pray all day long—be in constant contact with our heavenly Father.
In a letter to the Thessalonians, the apostle Paul tells us to “pray continually” (1 Thessalonians 5:17 NIV). In Philippians 4:6 he said, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God” (NIV). Talking to God should be something we do every day to sharpen our spiritual walk and deepen our connection to God.
Prayer isn’t just for communicating your needs or asking God to protect you; it shapes your world, your personality, and your responses to life’s troubles. Prayer is how you keep God in the center of whatever is going on in your life, and how you invite Him to move in your circumstances. He wants to do miracles on your behalf every day! He wants you to live a supernatural life! But He won’t force it on you – He’s waiting to be asked and then believed.
The enemy expects you to pray only when things are going wrong, and then to neglect prayer when everything’s going fine. So when you pray all the time and make prayer a lifestyle no matter what is happening in your life, you surprise the enemy. I don’t know about you, but I like to keep the enemy off balance! He is a defeated foe, and I like to keep him in his place.
