In All Circumstancesনমুনা
Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name.
There is nothing worse than a child who constantly complains. It is frustrating on many levels, but mainly because they are usually complaining about something that you, the mom, cannot change for them!
For example, when a child says, “I’m hot!”, what can you, as the mom, do about the weather? Nothing. When a child complains that they are bored, what can you, as the mom, really do to get them out of their bored state? Nothing.
Teach your child to choose to be thankful and praise God for what they do have in life. It is a choice every one of us has to make everyday, and it is something that doesn’t come naturally to us. But in choosing to be thankful, we become aware that the world does not revolve around us–a good lesson for everyone to learn.
A child can learn to start their day with thanksgiving and praise to their Heavenly Father. Teach them to thank God for the day–the sun, their food and shelter over their heads. Point out the blessings that God has given your family, such as health, love, and even their siblings! Once this grateful heart is nurtured in your child, hopefully they will keep it up. As always, you need to lead by example. Remind yourself of all the many blessings that surround you in your life.
Father,
Thank You for all the many blessings that You give me on a daily basis. I take so much for granted–my health, my children’s health, just to name a few. Today, I am stopping for a moment to praise Your holy name. Thank You for your Son, Jesus. He is enough!
