Our Response - To God's Plan For Our Life

DAY 2 OF 6

 Blessings For Choosing God’s Plan

"And the LORD God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it, you will certainly die."

Humanity’s first sin was not about listening to the serpent, but disobeying God’s command by eating the fruit from the tree God forbade them to eat in the garden. God was teaching humanity, His creation, to trust Him. He had regular fellowship with them every evening. Yet, they chose otherwise.

In today’s world of conflicting doctrines, how can we know which dogma to believe? An important principle I see in the Bible is that God will never ask us to believe something without giving us enough evidence. I pondered as to how Jesus expected His disciples to meet Him, three days after His death? Did Jesus expect His disciples to have extreme faith, as some doctrines claim today?

Scriptures record three miracles where Jesus raised a dead person to life. He raised Jairus’ daughter immediately ( maybe a few hours) after she died. Jesus performed this miracle with His three close disciples and the girl's parents. In another instance, He raised the son of the widow of Nain, at the city gate witnessed by His disciples, the funeral party, and some onlookers.

Finally, God raised his close friend Lazarus after four days in the tomb. The witnesses were those He loved and those who were looking for an opportunity to kill Him. Despite these pieces of evidence, the disciples had difficulty in believing the resurrection of Jesus on the third day. The religious leaders seemed to have had more faith that they asked to seal the tomb in fear of Jesus body stolen, than the resurrection they claimed. What God asks us to believe is pragmatic.

Yes, God pushes us out of our comfort zone at times, to do seemingly ridiculous things. Amazingly, He asked Noah to build a boat in anticipation of rain. The unique blessing Noah received was that through him humanity was preserved.

Are we ready to be blessed by choosing God’s plan in our life?

Our Response - To God's Plan For Our Life

Is God's plan different from what the world calls ‘Fate’? If God has planned our life, where is our choice? Is it logical for God's plan and our free will to co-exist?
