What Courage Looks Likeনমুনা
Courage is sometimes unpopular.
When you stand up for what’s right, it takes a lot of courage. Why? Because often what’s right is not what’s easy. It’s easy to go with the flow and do what everyone else is doing. But God calls us to a higher standard. That’s where courage comes in.
Courage means doing what’s right instead of what’s popular or normal. That’s why you need to know what you believe and set your standard for how you’ll behave before you’re tested.
There’s a really epic example about this in the Bible with three men who were called Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Check out their story highlights in today’s video:
See, it’s a pretty crazy story! Those three guys had such a strong faith in their God that they were willing to have courage to do what was right even if it meant being thrown into a furnace. They knew that God would protect them, but whether or not He did, they were still willing to stand up for Him.
Think about that. You may not be faced with getting tossed into a furnace, but you will face some tests in life. Are you prepared for them? Is your faith going to last when it really comes down to it? What would it take for you to do what’s right?
The truth is, you’ll need to train yourself today to do the right thing tomorrow. You will need courage. You will need to know what you believe. And you will need to trust that the God you serve is stronger than anything life throws your way.
Courage is sometimes unpopular. So, when it comes down to it—are you willing to stand up for what’s right, even when it costs you?
Think about some ways you can start sticking up for what’s right over what’s easy. Start small—maybe it’s reading your Bible before playing video games. Maybe it’s not watching that inappropriate YouTuber you like. Or maybe it’s standing up for a kid in your class who gets bullied. Find ways to stand up for what’s right and for what you believe in. It will take courage, but it will be worth it.
