Love God Greatly - Jonahনমুনা
Deliverance through obedience
Deliverance came to Jonah´s life once he understood what it all was about: obedience. Obedience is such an easy and yet such a difficult thing! We don´t need to understand God´s plans. We don’t even have to like them. We only need to obey whatever God is asking us to do.
Sometimes, I imagine our lives like one of those human chess games. In these games, people take the place of pieces on a life-size chessboard on the ground and one person per team moves those pieces by telling the people on the ground how to move and what steps to take. That person sits on a high chair, which gives them the big picture of the whole board, while the pieces can only see only the few squares around them.
The pieces have such limited vision that they can make decisions based only on the small part of the board they see. However, these decisions may not be the best ones on the long term. They need to be guided by someone who can see the whole picture and obey his instructions to win the game.
Do you guide your decisions based only in your limited vision of the situations you face? When we try to figure out what´s coming next instead of trusting in the One who can see all the pieces together, we ignore that the best thing to do is obey God and let Him take the lead.
Dear God, forgive me for thinking that I know better than You do. Help me trust Your guidance always and to live a life of total obedience to You. Amen.

About this Plan
Regardless if we are an outsider, like the people of Nineveh, or an insider, like Jonah, to the Kingdom of God, the book of Jonah is a reminder that God goes to great lengths to demonstrate His grace and mercy to all. Be encouraged as you read this powerful story of God’s relentless grace and mercy, and may you never forget that no one is beyond redemption. May we all seek to love the loveless in our lives.
