7 Stages Of Grief After Miscarriage

DAY 5 OF 7

In 2 Samuel 12, God sent Nathan to confront King David for having Bathsheba’s husband, Uriah, killed. David was trying to protect himself from the consequences of his adultery with Bathsheba. God knew David had a repentant heart for his sin, but He had to give a consequence that would ensure David never repeated a sin of this nature.

God allowed David and Bathsheba’s young son to become very ill. For seven days, David fasted and prayed, pleading and begging God to spare his son. On the seventh day, God took David’s son.

The servants were afraid to tell their King that his son had died because of how distraught he had been those seven days leading up to his son’s death. Once David learned God had taken his son, he got up off the floor, got dressed and began to take care of himself. His servants were so shocked by this sudden change when he said to them, “Can I bring him back again? I will go to him, but he will not return to me.”

David knew he would never again see his precious son while he was living on Earth. He was confident that he would be reunited with his son in Heaven. David could have allowed his guilt to eat him alive, destroying the rest of his life and the work God had for him to complete. Of course, David was grieved and hurting. He loved his son more than himself and that type of grief doesn’t disappear overnight, but he did not allow it to consume him.

David had every reason to feel guilty and blame himself for his son dying but he didn’t. He didn’t allow his guilt to become a chain, weighing him down for the rest of his life. He moved forward, past the guilt, with God’s help.

If you are struggling with guilt right now, I pray you reach out to God for healing. Our enemy wants you to feel weighed down with guilt, which is the opposite of what God wants for you. God cares deeply about you and He is the only One that can silence the guilt the enemy is holding over you right now. Choose today to not allow your grief to become a chain that wraps itself around you for the rest of your life. Jesus won your freedom on the cross, don’t allow yourself to become a slave to guilt.

About this Plan

7 Stages Of Grief After Miscarriage

The heartache that follows a miscarriage has the potential to draw us closer to God or away from Him. Our enemy, Satan, wants to take our raw emotions and lure us as far from God as he possibly can. Only God can offer the peace and healing our hearts desire. This plan will identify the seven stages of grief and guide women to find true healing within God’s Word.
