A Moment With Godনমুনা
MEDITATE ON HIM
When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches. You have been my help.
In between rising up early and meditating on God, there should be no murmuring or complaining. There is Praise, Confidence and Rejoicing. When we rise up, we seek Him and throughout the day, there is praising and singing. We express our confidence in the Lord and we end the day with rejoicing.
What do we remember at the end of the day? Hurt? Material Needs? Work? Family? Or are we worried?
- What we go to bed with is what we rise up with in the morning.
- When we go to bed with pain, we rise up with anger.
- When we go to bed with anxiety, we rise up with fear.
- When we go to bed with an unforgiving heart, we rise up with bitterness.
- When we go to bed with tears, we rise up troubled.
- When we go to bed meditating on Him, we rise up with thanksgiving.
What fills our day, between rising up and ending the day? Is it praising God? Is it confidence in Him? Or is it rejoicing?
Let us deliberately take time to mediate on Him.
The Psalmist says he mediates on God. Our focus is the Lord. When we focus on Him, our problems become smaller. However, we tend to focus on the problem. Because we are human, we tend to forget to focus on the Lord. When we come to the end of the day, let us lift our hearts with praise and thanksgiving, and thank the Lord, that amidst all our struggles and anxieties, He has preserved us. Let us thank Him because He is a prayer-answering God. Let us go to bed with a thankful heart so that we will rise with joy on our lips.
Praise is not seasonal. It is an everyday experience. As long as we live, we will bless Him. Have others seen our praising? Or have they seen our murmuring? Have they seen our rejoicing? Or our complaining and grumbling?
Above all, what does the Lord see in our hearts? It is easy to thank and praise Him when everything is going well. But do we still thank Him and praise Him when things do not go our way? Thank God for his thoughts are different from our thoughts. Thank God His ways are different from our ways.
Let us celebrate this day with joy in our heart, praise on our lips, focusing on Him. He has trusted us with this day. Let us praise Him. Let us take our eyes off the struggles around us and in us and fix our eyes on the Lord who will answer us and carry us through.
Between seeking Him early in the morning and meditating on Him at night, let the day be packed with praising, rejoicing and confidence.
Praise is not seasonal. It is a life experience.
