A Moment With Godনমুনা
WHERE ARE YOU?
And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to the man and said to him, “Where are you?”
It was Adam who sinned against God. It was Adam who was hiding along with Eve. But it was the Lord who goes after them. Adam, where are you? I miss our fellowship.
Sin builds a wall between God and us. Let us look at the love with which God pursues Adam. Adam enjoyed the fellowship with God, walking with Him hand in hand. But when sin crept in, he moved away.
It is true with many of us. We know what it is to have intimacy with God. This intimacy is affected by sin, by our activity, by our busy schedule. The tragedy is that we are not doing anything about it, living comfortably, until another crisis hits us and then, we seek Him. We can go on and on without fellowship with God. But the Lord cannot. He asks us this morning: Where are you? Why are you silent so many days? What is keeping you away from me? Come out of your hiding and restore your fellowship.
Have we moved away? Has our work kept us away from the Lord?
The Lord's question reveals to us that:
- His love is a genuine love, no hidden agenda. His love is real.
- His love is a seeking love. This is seen throughout the Scriptures. He came behind Peter, Jonah, Judas Iscariot and Thomas. He comes after us.
- His love is a restoring love. He wants to be restored to the fellowship that He enjoyed with us. He wants us to celebrate His presence.
His search makes us feel wanted, special and loved. If the Lord had left us, what would have happened to us?
Our Lord is a loving Lord. It makes us feel special. It makes us humble.
Sorry Lord for taking you for granted. Thank you for coming back for us. Restore our relationship with You.
Come. I am waiting to have that real fellowship with you, says the Lord. Would we respond to this Lord? Shall we get back to the Lord to the intimate fellowship that we once enjoyed?
How can we say no to this genuine, seeking, restoring love?
