chapter seven
1and after that is Yehoshua walking about in Galilee; because he did not want go around in (land of) Yehudah, because the Judaeans have sought him to kill. 2and it was near for the Jewish Yom Tov Succot, 3so have his brothers to him said: lift you on from there, and go to Yehudah, so that also your disciples should see your deeds, what you (SG) you do. 4because anyone does nothing in secrecy, and looks for after all publicly made known to be. if you (SG) do the these things, be yourself revealed to the cosmos. 5because even his brothers have not believed in him. 6Yehoshua did therefore to them say: my time is yet not come; your time however is always ready. 7you (PL) can the world not hate; me however hates she indeed, because I tell witness about her, that her deeds are evil. 8be you (PL) go up on foot for Yom Tov; I go yet not up for the Yom Tov, because my time is yet not fulfilled become. 9and when he has this said to them, did he remain in Galilee.
10after that however when his brothers did go up for Yom Tov, did he then alone also go up, not publicly, but as in secret. 11and the Judaeans did (for) him search during the Yom Tov, and did say: where is he? 12and there is become a great dispute over him among the crowds of; a part did say: he is a good man; other however did say: no, he misleads just the crowd (of). 13yet did anyone not speak about him openly, out of fear before the Judaeans.
14and when it is already was in middle of Yom Tov, is Yehoshua went up in house HaMikdash into and did teach. 15and the Judaeans have self amazed and said: how is the this one a knowing book (lettered), not having studied? 16did Yehoshua them therefore answer, and said: the learning of mine is not mine, but the one, who did me send. 17when anyone wants to do his will, will he know about the teaching, if it is from Hashem, or I speak from me alone. 18who it speaks from self alone, that (one) seeks his own honor; the one however who seeks the honor of him, who has him sent, the this one is truthful, and any unrighteousness is in him not there. 19(question) has Moses (Rebbeinu) you (PL) then not given the Torah? and (yet) keep none of you (PL) the Torah not. why seek you (PL) me to kill? 20did the crowd people answered: you (SG) you have a evil spirit; who seeks you to kill? 21did Yehoshua answer and said to them: one thing have I done, and you (PL) all astonished self. 22Moses did you (PL) give the circumcision—not that it is from Moses, but from the forefathers—and you (PL) do circumcise a person on Sabbath. 23if the person becomes circumcised on Sabbath, so that should not violating be on law of Moses, are you (PL) furious on me, because I have a entire person well made on Sabbath? 24judge not according to the outward appearance, only a righteous judgment shall you (PL) judge.
25some of the people of Jerusalem have therefore said: (question) is he then not the one, whom they seek to kill? 26and look, he speaks openly, and they say to him nothing. can it be, that our rulers know in truth, that he is the Moshiach? 27we know after all the this, from where he is: however when the Moshiach will come, knows anyone not from where he is. 28Yehoshua did therefore cry out in the House HaMikdash, while he was teaching, and said: you (PL) know me, and you (PL) know, from where I am: and from me alone did I not come; but truthful is the one, who did me send, whom you (PL) know not. 29I can He, because I am from Him; and he did me send. 30they did therefore seek him to arrest; and anyone has not laid on him the hand, because his hour is yet not come. 31and a many of the crowd people did believe in him, and said: when Moshiach will come, (question) will he then do more signs, than the this one has done? 32the Pharisees did hear the crowd the quietly speaking about him; and the chief kohenim and the Pharisees did send servants, so that they should him arrest. 33Yehoshua did therefore say: yet a little while am I with you (PL), and I go to him, who has me sent. 34you (PL) will me seek, and not find; and where I am, (there) can you (PL) not come. 35the Judaeans did therefore say one to the other: where will this one go, that we should him not find? not will he then go to those, who are dispersed among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks? 36what shall the these word mean, what he did say: you (PL) will me seek and not find and: where I am, can you (PL) not come?
37and in that last one day, the great day of the Yom Tov, did Yehoshua stand and has cried out, so to say: if anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. 38the one, who believes in me, according to as the scripture (scriptures the Holy) say, will from his body flows rivers of living water. 39the these however has he said about the Spirit (the Holy), which the believers in him, were be; because the Spirit had yet not been given become, because Yehoshua is yet not was glorified. 40and some of the crowd, who had heard the these words, did say: this is in truth the prophet! 41other did say: this is the Moshiach! others did say: no, the Moshiach comes yet not out of Galilee? 42(question) did then not the verse say, that from the seed (of) David and from Bethlehem the village, where David was, comes the Moshiach? (Samuel 2nd 7, 12; Micah 5, 1.) 43it is therefore become a dispute among the crowd on account of him. 44some of them did him want to arrest, but anyone did not lay the hands on him.
45and the servants did return to the chief kohenim and Pharisees, and they did to them say: why did you (PL) him not bring? 46did the servants answer: it did yet anytime any man not so speak, as the this one man speaks. 47the Pharisees did therefore answer to them: are you (PL) also deceived become? 48(question) has then someone of the rulers believed in him, or (someone) of the Pharisees? 49but the this one crowd, who know not the Torah, cursed are they. 50says Nakdimon to them (the one, who is before come to him, and was one of them): 51(question) judge then our Torah the man, before one has him before all listened to, and one knows what he has done? 52did they answer and said to him: (question) you are also from Galilee? search and look, that from Galilee arises not on any prophet (Isaiah 9, 1-7). 53(and every one did himself home go.)
