chapter six
1after that is Yehoshua went away on the another side of the sea of Galilee—sea Kinneret (Tiberias). 2and a great crowd people has him followed, because they have seen the signs, which he had done with the sick. 3and Yehoshua is went up on the mountain, and has self there sat down together with his disciples. 4and it was near to the Jewish Yom Tov Pesach. 5and as Yehoshua did lift up the eyes and saw, that a great crowd people comes to him, says he to Philip: from where should we buy bread, so that they should have to eat? 6the these did he say, testing him; because he himself did know, what he will do. 7Philip did him answer: two hundred denarii bread will for they not be enough, that every one shall only take a small piece. 8says to him one of his disciples, Andrew the brother of Simon Peter: 9it is here here a boy, who has five barley breads and two little fish; but who is that for so many (people)? 10has Yehoshua say: make the people self sit down. and on that place was a many grass. the men have self therefore sat down, in number an about five thousand. 11then did Yehoshua take the breads, did make a blessing and them distribute to the (ones), who have self sat down; likewise also of the little fish, as many as they did want. 12and when they are filled become, says he to his disciples: take together the rest/residue of broken pieces, so that it shall nothing lost become. 13so did they gather together and filled twelve baskets of the broken pieces of the five barley breads, which did remain to those, who had eaten. 14when therefore the people did see this sign (miracle), which he had done, did they say: this is in truth the prophet, who must come in the world into.
15therefore as Yehoshua has self find out, that they want come and him restrain, so that him to make for a king, did he himself again withdraw on the mountain top all alone.
16and when it is become evening, did his disciples go down to the sea; 17and are step in in a boat and cross over on the another side sea to K'far-Nachum. and it is already was dark, and Yehoshua is yet not had come to them. 18and the sea has self lift up, because it has blown a stronger wind. 19and when they have had rowed an about five and twenty or thirty stadia (3-4 miles), have they seen Yehoshua walking on the sea, and self get closer to the boat; and they have fear had. 20he however has to them said: I am He; have not any fear! 21and they have wanted him take in boat into, and immediately is this boat come to the land, where they are traveling.
22the next morning did the crowd people, who were standing on the other side of sea, see, that it is there not was any other boat except one, and that Yehoshua is not step in with his disciples in the boat, rather his disciples alone did travel away; 23there did however came boats from Tiberias near to the place of, where they did eat the bread, after the as the L-rd had made a blessing. 24when therefore the crowd people did see, that Yehoshua is there not, not (nor) the disciples his, did they step in in the boats, and did come to K'far-Nachum, and did were looking for Yehoshua. 25and finding him on the other side of sea, did they say to him: Rebbe, when did you here come here? 26has Yehoshua them answered and said: in truth, in truth tell I you (PL): you (PL) seek me, not because you (PL) did see signs but because you (PL) had eaten of the breads and were filled become. 27work not for the food, which becomes destroyed, but for the food, which abides to the eternal life, which the Son of Man will you (PL) give; because on him did G-d the Father place his seal. 28did they say to him: what should we do, so that we should devote (self) be in the deeds of Hashem? 29did Yehoshua answered and said to them: the these is the work of Hashem, that you (PL) shall believe in him, whom he has sent. 30did they say to him: what for a sign do you do then, that we should see and you (SG) believe? what do you do? 31our parents did eat manna in the wilderness, just as it stands written: bread from the heaven did he them give to eat. 32did Yehoshua to them say: in truth, in truth tell I you (PL): not Moses did you (PL) give this bread from the heaven; but the Father mine gives you (PL) this true bread from the heaven. 33because this bread of Hashem is He, who comes down from the heaven and gives life to the world. 34did they therefore said to him: L-rd, give us always the this bread. 35did Yehoshua to them say: I am the bread of life; the one, who comes to me, will never not hunger, and the one, who believes in me, will never not thirst. 36I did (to) you (PL) however say, that you (PL) have me seen and yet believe you (PL) not. 37all, which the Father gives me, will come to me; and that one, who comes to me, will I never way not cast out outside. 38because I did come down from heaven, not so that I shall do my will, but the will of him, who had me sent. 39and the these is the will of him, who has me sent, that of all, who he has me given, shall I nothing to lose, but I shall it raise up in the last one day. 40because the these is my Father's will, that every one, who see the Son and believes in Him, shall have eternal life; and I will him raise up in the last day.
41the Judaeans did therefore murmur against him, because he has said: I am the bread, which is come down from the heaven. 42and they have said; (question) is then the this one not Yehoshua son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how says he this now: I am come down from heaven? 43did Yehoshua answer and said to them: grumble not among yourselves. 44anyone can not come to me, if the Father, who has me sent, draws him not; and I will him raise up in the last one day. 45it stands written in the prophets: and all will be taught from Hashem. every one, who has heard from the Father and did learn, comes to me. 46not that anyone has seen the Father, except the one, who is from Hashem; the this one did see the Father. 47in truth, in truth say I you (PL): the one who believes has eternal life. 48I am the bread of life. 49your (PL) parents did eat manna in the wilderness, and did die. 50the these is this bread, which comes down from heaven, that who it eats thereof, shall not die. 51I am this living bread, which has come down from heaven; if someone will eat of the this bread, will he live until on eternal; and the bread, that I will give, is my flesh, for the life of the world.
52the Judaeans have self therefore disputing one with the other, and said: how can the this one us give his flesh to eat? 53did Yehoshua to them say: in truth, in truth tell I you (PL): if you (PL) will not to eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, have you (PL) not any life in yourselves. 54who it eats my flesh and drinks my blood, that (one) has eternal life; and I will him raise up in the last day. 55because my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. 56the one, who eats my flesh and drinks my blood, remains in me, and I in him. 57as the living Father did me send, and I live through the Father, so the one, who eats me, will live through me. 58the these is that bread, which is come down from heaven; not as your (PL) parents have eaten, and did die; who it eats the these bread, that (one) will life eternal. 59this did he say, while he did teach in the synagogue in K'far-Nachum.
60and a many of his disciples have said, when they have it heard: the these is a severe word; who can it hear? 61knowing however in self alone, that his disciples did murmur about this, did Yehoshua to them say: the these make you (PL) offended? 62and what will be, when you (PL) will see the Son of Man going up, where he is before was? 63the Spirit is it, who makes alive; the flesh is useful for nothing; the words, which I have spoken to you (PL), are Spirit, and are life. 64but among you (PL) are there some, who believe not. because Yehoshua has known from the beginning on, who are those, who believe not, and who it is, who will him betray. 65and he did say: therefore have I (to) you (PL) said: anyone can not come to me, unless it is him not destined become of my Father. 66of then on did a many of his disciples self withdraw, and did with him more not walk. 67Yehoshua did therefore say to the twelve: (question) want you (PL) also to go away? 68did Simon Peter him answer: L-rd, to whom should we go? you (SG) you have the words of eternal life. 69and we believe and know, that you (SG) are the Holy One (of) G-d. 70did Yehoshua them answer: (question) have I then not you (PL)—the twelve—chosen? and one of you (PL) is a devil. 71and he has spoken of Yehudah son of Simon man from Kriot; because the this one was him was going to betray him, one of the twelve.
