chapter seven
1and the kohen gadol has said: (question) are these accusations really so? 2he however has said:
brothers and fathers, listen! the G-d of glory has self appeared to our father Abraham, while he was in Aram Neharim, before he has lived in Charan, 3and said to him: go out from your country and of your family, and go into that land into, which I will you (SG) to show. 4is he then went out out of that country of the Chaldeans and did dwell in Charan, and from there, after the when his father is died, did he him bring over into the this land into, in which you (PL) dwell now. 5and did him there not given any inheritance, even not a place of, where a foot to put down, but it (did) him promise to give for a possession and to his seed after him, while he had yet not had any child. 6and Hashem did to him just speak: that his seed will be a ger (proselyte) in a strange land, and they will be enslaved and tortured four hundred years long. 7and this nation, which will be enslaved, will I judge, did Hashem say, and after that will they go out and me serve in the this place. 8and did him give the agreement (covenant) of circumcision; and in this way did he (Abraham) fathered Isaac and him circumcise did the eighth day, and Isaac did father Jacob, and Jacob—the twelve head forefathers. 9and the head forefathers, envy having (for) Joseph, did him sell to Egypt; and Hashem was with him, 10and did him rescued from all his troubles, and him granted free favor and wisdom before Pharaoh, the king of Egypt; and he did him appoint for a ruler over Egypt and over his whole house. 11and it is become a famine over all Egypt and Canaan, and a great tribulation, and our parents did not found any food. 12when however Jacob did hear, that it is here wheat in Egypt, did he this first time send out our fathers. 13and this other time was Joseph himself allowed to recognize to his brothers, and Joseph's parentage became known to Pharaoh. 14and Joseph did send and called his father Jacob and the entire family, (five and) seventy souls. 15and Jacob did go down to Egypt, and is died and our fathers, 16and they has they were brought over to Shechem and placed in the tomb, that Abraham had bought for a money price from Chamor's sons in Shechem. 17and since it has self come closer the time of the promise, about which Hashem have sworn to Abraham, is the people grow and self multiply in Egypt, 18until over Egypt did stand up again an other king, who did not know Joseph. 19the this one did deal with cunning against our people, and tormented our parents, that they should cast out their newborn children, so that they should not remain alive. 20at that time was Moses born become, and was beautiful for Hashem, and was three months long fed was in his father's house. 21and when they has him thrown out, did Pharaoh's daughter him take and brought up for herself for a son. 22and Moses did learn become in every wisdom of the Egyptians, and was a strong man in his words and deeds. 23and when he is old become forty years, is him come on the heart to visit his brothers the children Israel. 24and seeing one to suffer an wrong, did he self taken and avenged was for the victim, smiting the Egyptian. 25and had thought, that his brothers would understand, that Hashem gives them salvation through his hand, they however did not understand. 26and the next day did he himself show to them, while they have self quarreling, and did want to make peace among them, and said: men, you (PL) are (after all) brothers, why do you (PL) an injustice one to the other? 27and the one, who has wronged his friend, did him push aside, saying: who did you place for a ruler and a judge over us? 28(question) do you want me to kill, the way, as you (SG) did yesterday kill the Egyptian? 29is Moses run away because of the this word and became a stranger in the land of Midyan, where he did birth two sons. 30and when forty years were fulfilled become, has self an angel appeared to him in the wilderness by the Mount Sinai in a flame of fire from the bush. 31and seeing that, did Moses self amazed about the appearance; and while he did go over, it to examine, is come the voice from the L-rd (Hashem): 32I am the G-d of your fathers, the G-d of Abraham, and the G-d of Isaac, and the G-d of Jacob. and Moses did tremble and did not dare to look. 33and the L-rd did to him say: take off the shoes from your feet, because this place, on which you (SG) are standing, is holy ground. 34looking have I seen the suffering of my people, who is in Egypt, and have heard their sigh, and did go down them to redeem; and now come, I will you send to Egypt. 35the this Moses, whom they had denied, saying: who has you put up for a ruler and a judge? the one has Hashem sent as a ruler and redeemer, through the hand of the angel, who has self appear to him in the bush. 36he did them lead out, doing signs and wonders in the land Egypt and in the Yam Suf (Red Sea) and in the wilderness forty years long. 37this is that Moses, who did say to the children of Israel: a prophet will the L-rd your G-d (for) you raise up from your (PL) brothers, like to me; him shall you (PL) hear. (Deuteronomy 18, 15.) 38he is the one, who was in the congregation in the desert with the angel, who had spoken to him on the Mount Sinai, and with our parents; he did receive words of life to give to us; 39to whom our fathers did not want be obedient, but did him push aside and in their hearts self turn back to Egypt, 40and said to Aharon: make us g-ds, who should go before us; because the this one Moses, who had us led out from the land Egypt, know we not what it is happened to him. 41and did make a calf in those days, and brought a sacrifice to the idols and rejoice with the deeds of their hands. 42and Hashem has self turned away and them handed over to worship the hosts of heaven, just as it stands written in the book of the prophets:
(question) have you (PL) Me (then) offer did sacrifices
and offerings forty years in the wilderness,
o house of Israel?
43and you (PL) have accepted the tent of Moloch
and the star of the g-t Reitan (Romfan),
the idols, which you (PL) have made,
yourselves to worship to them.
and I will you (PL) drive out on that side of Babylon.
(Yirmeyah 7, 18; 19, 13; Amos 5, 25-26)
44this Mishkan HaEdut was with our parents in the wilderness, just as He had ordered, who had spoken to Moses, that he shall it make according to the pattern, which he had seen. 45which our parents with Yehoshua did take and also brought into the possession of the nations, whom Hashem did drive out from before our parents face, until to the days of David; 46who had found favor with Hashem, and did ask to find a tent for the G-d of Jacob. 47Solomon however did build for him a house. 48but the Most High dwells not in (houses), which are of hands made, as the prophet says:
49the heaven is my throne,
and the earth—the footstool for my feet;
what for a house will you (PL) Me build?
says the L-rd (G-d);
or which is the place of my rest?
50(question) has then not my hand
made the these all things?
(Yeshayah 66, 1-2)
51you (PL) stiffnecks and (who have) not circumcised hearts and ears, you (PL) place yourselves always against the Spirit the Holy; as the parents your (PL), in this way you (PL). 52which of the prophets did your (PL) parents not persecute? and did kill those, who had foretold (prophecied) about the coming of the tsaddik, whose betrayers and murderers you (PL) have now become; 53you (PL), who had received the Torah through the mediation of angels, and have it (yet) not kept!
54and on hearing this, did it them pierce in their hearts, and they did gnash with the teeth at him. 55and he, being full with the Spirit the Holy, did gaze up to the heaven, and saw the glory of Hashem, and Yehoshua standing at Hashem's right side, 56and did say: here see I the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right side of Hashem. 57and they did a shout do with a loud voice and self stopped up their ears, and all together did themselves a throw do on him, 58and him cast out outside the city and stoned; and the witnesses did put down their clothing at the feet of a young man, who was named Saul. 59and did stone Stefanos, while he had called out and said: L-rd Yehoshua, take up my spirit. 60and did fall to the knees and a shout did with a loud voice: L-rd, charge them not for the this sin. and this having said, is he fall asleep.
