1 Peter letter 1
1
1Peter, a Shliach of Yehoshua the Moshiach, to the chosen exiles in the dispersion (Jewish) of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia (Minor) and Bithynia, 2according to the foreknowledge (Romans 8, 29.) of G-d the Father, in making holy by the Spirit, to obedience and sprinkling with the blood of Yehoshua the Moshiach: grace to you (PL) and peace shall itself much increase.
3praise shall be the G-d and Father of our L-rd Yehoshua the Moshiach, who has according to his great mercy us given birth again to a living hope through Yehoshua the Messiah's standing up again from the dead, 4to an imperishable and undefilable inheritance, and which withered not, which is hidden in heaven for your sake, 5who you (PL) being protected in Hashem's power through the confidence for a salvation ready revealed to be in the time of the end. 6with this shall you (PL) self rejoice, you (PL), who are now in a short while grieved, when it had to be, in various trials, 7so that the proving of your faith shall found be much more worth than gold, that perishes, although it becomes tested by fire, for (leading to) a praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Yehoshua the Moshiach; 8whom you (PL) have not seen and have yet love; and now, not seeing Him, but believing in Him, rejoice you (PL) yourselves with a joy, which is inexpressible and glorious; 9receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your (PL) souls. 10concerning which salvation it have inquired and searched were the prophets, who have prophecies said about the grace (appointed) for for your sake; 11inquiry making about which or who for a time Moshiach's Spirit in them has shown, while He had beforehand witness said of the suffering (which have should come) on Moshiach and the glory after that. 12to them is it revealed become, that not for self alone, but for your sake have they ministered the these things, which are (to) you (PL) now announced become by those, who have you (PL) brought the News Good by the Spirit the Holy, that was sent become from heaven; things, into which angels long to look into.
13therefore, belting up the loins of your mind, shall you (PL) be sober, with your whole hope on the grace, which is being (to) you (PL) brought in the revelation of Yehoshua the Moshiach; 14as obedient children shall you (PL) not conform your life according to the lusts, in which you (PL) were once in your ignorance; 15but as the One, who has you (PL) called, is holy, so shall you (PL) yourselves also be holy in all your (PL) ways; 16therefore it stands written; holy shall you (PL) be, because I am holy. (Leviticus 11, 44.) 17and if you (PL) call on as Father (quote unquote) the One, who judges according to each (man's) deeds without partiality, shall you (PL) pass (time) with reverence while you sojourn yourself (here); 18knowing, that not with perishable things, with silver or gold, were you (PL) redeemed become from your worthless manner of life, which is you (PL) handed over become from your (PL) parents; 19but with the precious blood of the Moshiach, as of a lamb without a defect and without a spot; (Exodus 12, 5.) 20which is set or given beforehand become before the foundation of the world, but revealed having become at the end of the times for for your sake, 21who believe through Him in Hashem, who did Him raise up again from the dead and him gave glory; so that your faith and confidence shall be on Hashem. 22and having purified your (PL) souls in the obedience of the truth to a sincere brotherly love, shall you (PL) earnest love have one for the other from the heart out; 23as the ones born again, not of a perishable seed, but of an imperishable, through Hashem's living and abiding word. 24because:
every flesh is as grass,
and every glory of it is like a flower of the grass.
wither becomes the grass,
and the flower falls down;
25the L-rd (G-d's) Word/Memra however remains on eternity.
(Yeshayah 40, 8)
and the this is the word, which is (to) you (PL) announced become as News Good.
