Psalms 46
46
psalm XLVI (1–5).
Tuin: Stroudwater
1A bield fu’ stieve to us God is,
In mids’ o’ tribble near;
2Sae, free o’ dreid oor herts we’ll haud,
Gin a’ the yirth sood steer.
3Gin hills be cuisten in the sea,
And rushin’ waters roar;
And gin the heighest hills sood quake
The risin’ fludes afore.
4But there’s a burn, that gledsome wins
Athing the brugh o’ God —
The haudin’ heale, that He abune
Has waled for His abode.
5God in her hert has set His hame,
Sae skaithless sal she bide;
Lang or the blink o’ day has daw’d,
He sal her weel betyde.
