A Song of Ascents.
1In my distress I cried unto the Lord,
and He heard me. # Ps 18:6; Jon 2:2
2Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips,
from a deceitful tongue.
3What shall be given to you,
or what shall be done to you, you deceitful tongue?
4Sharp arrows of the warrior, # Ps 45:5
with coals of the broom tree!
5Woe is me, that I dwell in Meshech, # Ge 10:2
that I dwell among the tents of Kedar! # Ge 25:13
6Too long has my soul dwelt
with ones who hate peace.
7I am for peace,
but when I speak, they are for war!
