Trying Again Part II : After Miscarriage & Pregnancy LossSample

Trying Again Part II : After Miscarriage & Pregnancy Loss

DAY 5 OF 5

Prayer Time

During this time of "trying again," there are many things you can do to prepare as a couple and as yourself. Communicate. Spend time with each other. Seek counsel. Dream. However, out of all things, the main thing you should do throughout the process is pray. I have always been so grateful for prayer because God knows so much more than we do. He knows what we need before we even ask. He knows how you are feeling, as well as your spouse. He knows what battles you all will come across. He knows the past, present, and future. Who better to relay your desires and concerns to?

Amid all the planning, we can sometimes forget who is the ultimate planner of our lives and who has the final say. As you all continue on this journey, remember to pray together, present your concerns and desires to God, and trust God.

God's thoughts and ways are above ours, and He knows the perfect timing for you and your spouse to have children. He knows. Therefore, don't rely on all the planning. Rely on His sovereignty and faithfulness. Don't try to take so much control over your plans. You can only do so much, and when you try to hold on to that control, you cause more stress on yourself. Do your part and leave it to God. When you leave it with Him, it's easier to hold on to peace and trust. Let go. Let go of your own plans. Let go of your own will. He knows what's best for you and your spouse. He knows what's best for your family. Trust Him. He's got you both covered.

Reflection:

How can you and your partner make prayer a priority in this journey?

What areas of this journey do you need to surrender to God completely?

Was this plan helpful? If you want to spend more days with me on this journey, we adapted this Plan from the book, Conversations with God: After Miscarriage and Pregnancy Loss. Visit https://chloemgooden.com/ministries/ for more information.

Day 4

About this Plan

Trying Again Part II : After Miscarriage & Pregnancy Loss

After I lost my son, I struggled with my relationship with God, but I didn't expect to struggle in my relationship with my spouse. When we decided to try again, feelings of anxiety, sadness, tiredness, and frustration affected our marriage. In part two of "Trying Again," we will take a short walk together on the journey of caring for ourselves and our marriage.
