7 Dimensional Relationship As A Believer

DAY 6 OF 7

FORGIVER AND SINNER

A newcomer in a city walks on the side of a road where few boys were playing soccer. They signaled with one another and decided to make fun of the stranger. One of the boys threw the ball aiming to hit him. The ball hit his spectacles. It fell and broke into pieces. The man was shocked, stunned, and did not know how to react. He had three options:

Option 1: Punishment: The man wanted to catch those boys and beat them up. As a stranger in a new city, he was not confident to that. Also, he realized that by giving punishment he will not be able to retrieve the broken spectacles.

Option 2: Compensation: The other idea was to catch those boys, take them to their homes and demand parents to pay for the broken spectacles. The boys were obviously orphans and the man could not think further.

Option 3: Forgive: He had another option of forgiving the errant boys. If he decides to forgive, he has to pay from his own wallet for purchasing new spectacles.

There are three types of religions. The first believes that a person has to pay for his own sins and that they should take several births or reincarnations to pay for sins. Some religions teach good deeds cancel the bad deeds. If more good deeds are there, that person may gain heaven. However, the third option is Christian way: Lord Jesus Christ paid by His own death as wages of sin is death. (Romans 6:23) God’s Law and Justice demand that the wages of sin should be paid for. Hence, God sent His Son Lord Jesus Christ into the world to die for humanity. Since, Lord Jesus died on the cross and rose again, He has authority to forgive sins. One who forgives pays the cost of forgiveness.

This relationship teaches, Lord Jesus Christ forgives us. We are in need of forgiveness. Also, God’s gracious forgiveness teaches us that we forgive others willingly.
