Scripture
‘Master, you delivered to me five talents; here, I have made five talents more.’ Matthew 25:20
Summary
In Biblical times, a talent was a measurement of money. In fact, a talent would be worth $1.5 million today! The point of this verse is that when Jesus entrusts you with something valuable, He expects a return. He wants you to return it to Him in a better state than when He gave it to you. That is your duty. That is what it means to be a "good and faithful servant." You take what the master owns, you invest it wisely, you develop it, grow it, and give it back to Him in a better state. This is called "stewardship." Are you being a good steward? Of your family? Of your job? Of your home? Of your health? In the worship ministry, are you being a good steward of your skillset? Are you developing it? Growing it? Improving it? Each time you are scheduled, are you stewarding that opportunity well, by showing up prepared and with a positive attitude? The Lord has entrusted each of us with many ”talents". Let us seek to steward them well for His glory.

Closing Prayer
Lord God, we give you glory for our talents. They come from you. Every opportunity you've entrusted to us comes from you. Thank you for entrusting us with what we have, Lord. Help us to be good stewards. Help us to not be lazy. Help us to do our best. Show us how we can grow and multiply what you've given to us. When our season of serving ends, may the ministry be better than it was before we got here. Help us to be contributors to the work that you are doing. Use us for your glory. Help us to be faithful. In Jesus' name. Amen.
