It’s no surprise that the Israelites wanted to make sure that future generations remembered how God led His people out of Egypt. Not only does their story show the love that God had for them, but it’s also a reminder that God truly always keeps His promises to His people. Those who were there and lived this experience probably saw their faith renewed or solidified because of what happened. Their lives were changed! It was and continues to be a powerful account of God’s faithfulness. This is why the Psalmist encourages us as believers to share these experiences with our descendants and beyond. It isn’t just so our stories are told; it’s so that God’s story—the real, active, living story being written still today—is told. Sharing God’s faithfulness in our lives with others is how we can use our influence to keep growing God’s Kingdom.

Today, take some time to pray for future generations, those you know, and others that will come long after you. Ask God to use the influence of the current generation of believers (like you!) to continue to pass along the wonders of who He is.
