When we look at the world around us, it’s pretty easy to feel out of control. It seems that anytime we watch the news or read an article online, all we hear about are more wars, natural disasters, and heartbreaking circumstances. No matter where you live, it feels as though we can’t escape from all of the bad news. When this happens, it’s no surprise we start to get a pretty negative outlook on the world around us. Instead of going along with the rest of the world, God calls us to a different view. Rather than looking at the world and only seeing the negative, God calls on his people to pray. And while our prayers may not always lead to the outward outcome we may want, they will instill some peace into our own lives no matter what’s happening in and around our lives.

Today, take some time to pray for the people who are working to make the world a better place. Pray for those in leadership in our country and in your community. Pray over the things you see happening in our world. Ask God not just to bring peace and wisdom to those people and circumstances; ask Him to bring it to you, too.
