Precious Moments That Count For Eternityናሙና
The Living Intercessor
In the Old Testament, the High Priest would enter the Holy of Holies in the temple, with the blood of sacrificed animals every year. He would sprinkle the blood on the mercy seat, thereby making atonement for his sins and the sins of the people of Israel. God would forgive their sins, but only if this ritual was carried out year after year.
Jesus was the only sinless High Priest, who did not need to offer sacrifices for His own sins. He offered Himself on the cross of Calvary, for the sins of the whole world, once for all. The Levitical priesthood passed on from father to son but Jesus is a priest forever declared on oath by God Himself. Psalm 110:4 says, The Lord has sworn and will not relent, “You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.” His priesthood is permanent and unchangeable (Hebrews 7:24). Today, Jesus is seated at the Father’s right hand, making intercession for us continually. He sympathizes with our weaknesses, because He Himself was tempted in every way, but remained sinless (Hebrews 4:15).
You don’t have to fear when the devil reminds you of your sins. Jesus lives to intercede for you. He is your advocate, who pleads with the Father on your behalf (1 John 2:1). Even when your life seems messy, Jesus is able to give you a brand new start. Be encouraged that the name of Jesus means ‘salvation’.
The next time the enemy accuses you of your sins and tells you that there’s no hope for you, remind him that you have a living intercessor, who intercedes for you day and night. When you pray in the name of Jesus, He pleads for you and you receive deliverance, healing, comfort, peace and everything you need.
Declaration
Today, I declare that Jesus is my High Priest, who lives to intercede for me. I boldly go to the Father, through Jesus, who hears every prayer and pleads on my behalf.

It is our prayer that it will reveal to those who don’t know Jesus Christ, that there is a Creator and Maker of this universe, the only loving and powerful God who longs for a personal relationship with every human being. We pray that these daily readings will remind us all of the great hope and abundant joy in knowing Jesus Christ, through whom we have eternal life!
