Every Day

If you had to put yourself in a box and say which type of person you are, would you call yourself PLANNED or SPONTANEOUS? Whether you enjoy plans and lists and schedules, or prefer the adventure of waiting until the last minute, there are still things that you include every day without thinking about it; including what clothes to wear, what food to eat, and whether or not to brush your teeth. Did you notice that this song has a subtitle? It tells us that it is to be used every week, every Sabbath. The Psalms are intended to be a part of a routine - used regularly. If worship was a part of our every day, the impact would be immeasurable. We couldn’t even list all the ways it would change us! It would daily move our eyes off of ourselves. It would move our hearts and minds to line up with God's perspective. It would fill our spirits with the melodies of heaven...the list doesn’t end!

GO DEEP: Vs 1-2: The Psalm begins by declaring what is good every morning, and every night. What is it telling us to do with our daily routines? What can we do to live this out, starting today? Could there be anything as life changing as starting your day proclaiming “I am loved!” and finishing up every day by recognising “God was with me today!”? Here is one practical suggestion to make this an easy routine: begin your day by praying out a Psalm, and end your day by writing down where you saw God at work.
