The Song of a King

Imagine for a minute - what would you do if you were king for a day? Most likely your mind drifts to packing 24 hrs with luxury after luxury! Live the life of the rich and famous for a day! Our first thought is not about all the people we would be responsible for... Not many of us know what it feels like to be the king of a country! But - would we even want to know what that feels like?! To carry the responsibility of a whole nation? Of course, we all want to be treated like royalty! Live in a palace. People serving you whatever your heart desires! We’d love that! The luxury without the responsibility - how do we get that? Maybe if our Dad was the king?! But who wants to carry the weight of the well-being of millions of people?!
This Psalm is the song of a king who takes responsibility for the path his country is on. Few of us will ever carry that responsibility - but let’s see what we can learn from King David:

GO DEEP: Vs 1: What is the king's starting point? Can we make that our starting point every day? Even though he is the king, his focus starts on God. Vs 2: What does the king pay close attention to?
Vs 6: Who does the king surround himself with? Ask God for His voice on the people you spend time with - who does God want around you?

BE BOLD: Who needs to hear this? Who could you share it with?
