Reset My Trust
You might feel discouraged after reading yesterday’s passage. “I’m so messed up!” you might think. “There’s no way Jesus can accept me!”
The beautiful thing about Jesus is that He is condemnation-free. In fact, He faced the same temptations and struggles we face.
Today you’ll read about 40 days when Jesus was tested. He went without food and water for 40 days (note: NOT recommended!!), and at the end of it He was even stronger than before.
What’s the point? As you read the first part of Luke 4 today, see how Jesus is tempted, yet without sin.
- His physical needs are tested.
- He is offered all the power in the world.
- His devotion to God is tested.
Jesus turned every temptation into an opportunity to trust in God. Maybe you’re facing pain or temptation. Either way, learn from Jesus that “Man shall not live by bread alone.” Instead, we’re called to trust in God for our strength.
Jesus has gone before us. He has been tested. In our struggle, Jesus is able to relate to us and daily give us strength through our struggles.
