When I(n) Doubt

DAG 3 VAN 7

Your heart's desire

Becoming a flight attendant felt like such an unattainable dream for me that I felt sick on the way to the interview and wanted to get out of the car.

The feeling didn't improve when I went into the room and saw some of the other applicants—they even looked like actual flight attendants and were beaming in their beautiful outfits. Now I really felt out of place!

But at the end of the day, after many, many tests, I realized that it wasn't about how we looked but how much we really wanted the job! Although I didn't feel "good enough," becoming a flight attendant was one of the great desires of my heart. And that desire opened the door to the seemingly unattainable: my dream job!

It's so simple: my employers wanted to hire me just as I was because they knew that with great desire comes great possibilities!

Today, I'd like to encourage you: Jesus wants YOU as you are. He sees what's possible when your heart's desire is for Him!

If you look closely, you'll see that this longing for God in your heart has been there for a long time: "...He has also planted eternity [a sense of divine purpose] in the human heart [a mysterious longing which nothing under the sun can satisfy, except God]..." (Ecclesiastes 3:11, AMP).

God's love for you is so great! The King of King's heart is for you. Even if you haven't been able to fully return His love because of insecurity or feelings of insufficiency, this is what the Bible promises: "This is real love—not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins." (1 John 4:10, NLT)

So today, I have just one question I'd like to ask you: Is Jesus the great desire of your heart?

You are a miracle!
