En daar was 'n sekere dissipel in Damaskus met die naam van Ananias; en vir hom het die Here in 'n gesig gesê: Ananías! En hy sê: Kyk, ek is hier, Here. Toe sê die Here vir hom: Staan op en gaan na die straat wat genoem word Reguit, en vra in die huis van Judas na iemand wat Saul genoem word, van Tarsus; want kyk, hy bid. En hy het in 'n gesig 'n man met die naam van Ananías sien inkom en sy hand op hom slaan, sodat hy kan sien. Toe antwoord Ananias: Here, ek het by baie van hierdie man gehoor hoeveel kwaad hy u heiliges in Jerusalem aangedoen het. En hier het hy gesag van die owerpriesters om almal te bind wat u Naam aanroep. Maar die Here het vir hom gesê: Gaan, want hy is vir My 'n uitverkore voorwerp om my Naam te dra voor die heidene en konings en die kinders van Israel.
