Gevolglik het God weer ’n dag bepaal om sy rus binne te kan gaan. Daardie dag is vandag. God het dit aansienlik later deur Dawid aangekondig, naamlik: “Vandag wanneer julle sy stem hoor, moet julle nie julle harte verhard nie.” Hierdie nuwe rusplek was nie die land Kanaän waarheen Josua die Israeliete gelei het nie. Anders sou God nie later van ’n ander plek van rus gepraat het nie. Daar wag dus nog ’n heel spesiale rus vir God se volk. Want almal wat in hierdie rus van God ingaan, sal self rus van hulle moeitevolle arbeid, soos God ook van sy eie skeppingswerk gerus het. Kom ons span dan alles in om daardie rus binne te gaan sodat niemand van ons dalk hulle slegte voorbeeld van ongehoorsaamheid volg en ook omkom nie.
