DAY 21: MY YEAR AHEAD

As we conclude our 21 days of prayer and fasting, and look forward to the year ahead, it is important to take a moment to thank God for His presence and faithfulness over these past 21 days. Before we pray and ask God to reveal vision for the coming year, let us take a moment to exercise the spiritual discipline of remembrance. How has He revealed His nature to you these past few weeks? How has your heart been changed and how have you been enabled through His Word and by His Spirit to look more like Jesus? Acknowledging how God is moving in your life cultivates a dependence on His presence.

His presence should be our aim – knowing that it is impossible to live out the plans and purpose He has for our lives apart from Him. Ephesians 3:12 states that we can approach Him with boldness and confidence. Our confidence is derived from the knowledge of His promises, and our boldness is based on the assurance that we have in His faithfulness.

Let us confidently approach the Lord, asking for a bold vision for the new year ahead. Possessing knowledge of who God is, and having affirmation in His will for our lives, we can trust and believe that not only will He provide vision, but we will also be equipped for its completion.

Pray for opportunities. Pray that the Lord will continue to transform your heart and that your dependence upon Him will strengthen throughout the year. Pray for boldness. Pray for miracles. Pray for a confidence rooted in God’s faithfulness.

PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for all the ways that Your presence has been apparent during these past 21 days. I pray that You would increase my boldness and confidence in prayer. Help me to approach Your throne with confidence and to know in my heart that You are a gracious and loving Father who desires to respond to my prayers. Give me courage to continue to pray bold prayers and to live my life expectant for God-sized opportunities to advance Your mission.
