DAY 20: THE NEXT GENERATION

Read: John 14:6; 1 John 2:3; Psalm 145:4; John 10:4; Proverbs 22:6

Let it not be said that during our lifetime, we allowed a generation to fall victim to the lies of the enemy. Instead, let us cover the next generation in prayer and steward the influence the Lord has given each of us. Let us stand on the Word of God and encourage a generation to not only know the truth, but also to seek the truth all the days of their lives.

Equipping a generation to know the truth first requires that we ourselves both know and walk in truth. Knowing truth means experiencing Jesus by accepting His teachings and living in faithful obedience to His commands. Perfection is not a requirement, but a proper heart posture is. The more we posture our hearts towards Jesus and honor His commands, the more effective we will be at coming alongside the next generation and sharing God’s faithfulness.

PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father, I pray that the next generation is grounded in Your Word. Let them not be distracted by the world but, instead, reveal to them Your purpose and Your design and will for their lives. I pray for revival in the next generation. I pray that they would not be a lost generation but a found generation. Give them strength to wrestle with their questions and to destroy any beliefs that set themselves in opposition to You. Help them to fall in love with Your truth and to guard their hearts with Your Word.
