Walking With Jesus

DAY 33 OF 40

Become a Witness

Self-discovery:

  • Why must we witness to other people? (2 Corinthians 5:9-11&14)

  • Have you ever wondered what God’s desire is? (1 Timothy 2:4). God wants us to make disciples, not converts. Converts are people who have committed their lives to Christ but have not yet learnt how to follow Jesus. We make disciples by leading people to Christ and then coaching them in obedience to God.

  • How can I be a witness? (Acts 1:8). God called us to be His witnesses and we need the power of the Holy Spirit to do it. Remember that you are called a witness - either a good one or a bad one. We do not share our faith only by the things we say and do; it is who we are: witnessing must become a lifestyle.

  • We represent God (2 Corinthians 5:20; 1 Peter 3:15)

  • Partnership with God (Mark 16:20)

  • Why is it necessary for people to hear the gospel? (Romans 10:14-15)

  • When will the end of the world come? (Matthew 24:14)

  • What must we pray for regarding witnessing? (Acts 4:29)

  • What is the biggest challenge when it comes to witnessing? (Proverbs 29:25)

  • What should we pray for concerning unbelievers? (2 Corinthians 4:3-4). We must pray for the “veils” and spiritual blindness to be removed so that they can see God.

Your life’s testimony is powerful. A Christian’s testimony can be divided into three parts:

  1. My life before I came to know Christ

  2. How I became a Christian

  3. My life after I became a Christian

Briefly write your testimony down. Arrange with your small group facilitator to share your testimony in small group or share it with someone doing this course with you.

Reflection questions (write your answers in a journal):

  • What do you think are the main functions of an ambassador?

Action:

Make a list of four people who do not know the Lord and begin to pray for them.
