God's Grace

DAY 5 OF 11

Have you ever said you’re sorry but didn’t really mean it? Maybe someone told you to apologize, but deep down inside, you didn’t feel sorry. That kind of apology doesn’t mean much, does it?

Now, think of a time when you really felt sorry. When you apologized, you really meant it, right? If we want our words to really mean something, both our heart and our words have to match up.

The Bible tells us to declare with our words that Jesus is the Lord and leader of our lives and to believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead. When we say that and really believe God created a way for us to be with Him forever, our hearts and our words match up. Something special happens when we believe in Him with our hearts and our words—we are saved from our sins, and we are friends with God!

Watch the video and make a Bible Bandage to help you memorize Romans 10:9 and remember to keep your words and your heart matched up.

Bible Bandage

1. Ask if you can have some sticky bandages and a pen.

2. Write Romans 10:9 on a sticky bandage. If it doesn’t fit, use two.

3. Put the sticky bandage on you.

4. Every time you look at the bandage, read it out loud.

Talk It Over:

What does, “Jesus is Lord,” mean?

What can you do to help your heart and your words line up?
