Say this sentence out loud: God’s grace sets me free, and His Holy Spirit changes me.

When we choose to follow Jesus, God gives us the gift of grace. God’s grace sets us free. We no longer have to face the punishment for our sins. 

But God also gives us another gift when we choose to believe in Jesus and follow Him. It’s the gift of His Holy Spirit! God’s Holy Spirit changes us. We don’t have to give in when we are tempted to do something wrong. God’s Holy Spirit makes us stronger than sin! 

You see, God wants us to live His way. He loves us and knows that His way is best for us. But we can’t live His way on our own. No matter how hard we try, we cannot live our whole life without sinning, so God gives us His own Holy Spirit to guide us, show us His best way, and give us the power to follow it. 

At first, it can be hard to listen to God’s Holy Spirit. We might still make a lot of mistakes. But the more we choose to follow the Holy Spirit, the more we change to be like Jesus. It gets easier to live God’s way instead of our own way. That’s why we can say, “God’s grace sets me free, and His Holy Spirit changes me.”
