PREPARE

Take a moment to quiet your heart as you set aside today’s distractions.

Ask God to prepare you to read and receive his holy Word.

READ: 2 Timothy 3:14–17

Dear Friend,
But as for you, continue in the truths that you were taught and firmly believe. You know who your teachers were, and you remember that ever since you were a child, you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching the truth, rebuking error, correcting faults, and giving instruction for right living, so that the person who serves God may be fully qualified and equipped to do every kind of good deed.
In Christ,
Paul

REFLECT

In this letter, Paul offers personal encouragement to Timothy and reminds his younger friend to remain loyal to the truth of God’s Word. Is there someone you can encourage in God’s Word today?

Spend time considering the many uses of Scripture in this passage. How have you seen Scripture transform areas of your own life?

PRAY

Paul reminds us that Scripture is breathed out by God “so that the person who serves God may be fully qualified and equipped to do every kind of good deed.” Pray today that the time you spent in God’s Word would equip you to perform the good deeds God has called you to.
