21 Days of Prayer & FastingIsampula

In an age where distraction is just so prevalent in all our lives, the art of being deeply committed to a CONTINUED prayer life is one that we need to be disciplined in.
If you see prayer as a task rather than part of a relationship with God, it can become like a burden rather than a gift. To continue STEADFASTLY means to continue resolutely, being firm and unwavering. The Message version of today's scripture says this; ‘Pray diligently. Stay alert, with your eyes wide open in gratitude.'
Studies have shown that people who are working or engaged with a computer are distracted every 45 seconds. If this sounds crazy, be aware next time you engage in technology and see how you go. Advertising agencies intentionally target this weakness, throwing distractions at us in every way.
But God asks us to pray His will on earth as it is in heaven. He invites us as co-labourers with Him to stand and diligently pray. God did not give us prayer assignments to disappoint us. Our engagement with Him is that He will fulfil the cries of our hearts; that’s His will as a Father.
By faith, we continue to pray. Not just because of how we feel or what we see with our natural ability but because God asks us to pray. This is prayer's mission: that our joy will be complete and our hearts will be filled on the journey.
What an incredible privilege.
