Cross Over Into Your DestinyIsampula
The power of sacrifice
Today we start the second week of our series. The past twelve months have tested all of us in one way or another. Many have lost loved ones; others have lost their jobs, finances, self-respect, financial peace, scholarships, and many normal comforts. There is no doubt that we’ve not been living in our promised land.
Do you believe your life can change for the good? I do.
The Bible says the people of Israel escaped slavery in Egypt but were still enslaved by their own fears. “Then I said to you, ‘Do not be terrified; do not be afraid of them...In spite of this, you did not trust in the LORD your God...No one from this evil generation shall see the good land I swore to give your ancestors.’” (Deuteronomy 1:29, 32, 35, NIV) No one has control over this COVID-19 debacle, but we can control our responses. We can control the way we interpret every trial and setback. We can choose to stay in pain and trauma or plan for our next great breakthrough.
What will your next chapter look like? What do you want it to look like? What can you do to see it clearly and seize it?
Today’s step is a very painful one: sacrifice. Paul the Apostle looked back at his career and calling with these piercing words: “But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service coming from your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you.” (Philippians 2:17, NIV) He knew every sacrifice was worth it. As Paul faced certain death at the hands of the Romans, he was glad. He was even rejoicing with the believers in Philippi. Isn’t that incredible?
Every great athlete, entrepreneur, civil rights champion, missionary, and scientist has to make huge sacrifices to make a difference in his/her sphere of influence.
I want to see you cross over into a better future, but it will be impossible without the sacrifice of time, ego, fear, money, reputation, and effort. Your promised land is on the other side of a sacrifice. Please pray about it and ask the Holy Spirit to give you ideas.
I’m convinced you will hear from the Holy Spirit and bravely sacrifice to get to the other side because you are a miracle.
