Smile

A glad heart makes a happy face; a broken heart crushes the spirit.  -Proverbs 15:13 (NLT)

Being able to smile is truly a gift. There are times when you don't feel like smiling, and other times when smiling is all you can do. Try this: walk down a hall full of people and smile. See how many smiles you get back. Not just any smile, but a genuine smile, a smile that exudes from an authentic place. I've learned that a smile can hide so much: fear, pain, sadness, tears, but for me, a smile reflects one great thing: STRENGTH!

A genuine smile is a symbol of a glad heart. To smile when things are well is good and dandy, but what about when your plate is full of calamity? That's the actual test of being able to have a glad heart.

No matter where you find yourself, maintain your smile. Teach yourself to keep a glad heart when life doesn't hand you a reason to rejoice. Why? Even amid adversity, your smile is the strength you need to make it! Therefore, keep smiling and keep pushing toward the mark. Besides, you never know who your smile can help! Your smile could be the motivation someone needs in order to not quit their race.

Meditation:

Proverbs 15:13

Prayer:

Father, I pray that my smile will be just what someone needs to get through their day. Let the love of God be reflected through my smile always. In Jesus' name, Amen.
