Ngifuna ukugqamisa amandla akhishwa ngokuzila ukudla. Kungesinye sezikhali ezasetshenziswa iNdlovukazi u-Esteri. Wonke umuntu obalulekile eBhayibhelini wayezila ukudla: uMose, uDavide, u-Eliya, u-Esteri, uDaniyeli, u-Ana, uPawulu, noJesu, ukubala abambalwa. Lapho uJesu efundisa ngokuzila ukudla, wathi, “Nxa nizila” hhayi “uma nizila ukudla.” Wayecabanga ukuthi sonke sizozila. 

Sadalelwa ukuzilolongela ukuzila ukudla.  Cabanga ngalokhu: uma ulala amahora ayisishiyagalombili njalo ebusuku, kusho ukuthi ulala ingxenye eyodwa kweyezintathu yempilo yakho yonke. Uma uphila cishe iminyaka engamashumi ayisikhombisa nanhlanu, leyo iminyaka engamashumi amabili nanhlanu yokulala noma izinsuku ezingu-9,125. Uma ulala, uzilile futhi yingakho ukudla kwasekuseni kubizwa ngokuthi “isidlo sasekuseni” - kulapho uphula khona ukuzila kwakho.

Enye inzuzo yokuzila ukuthi kusinika amandla okufeza ubizo lukaNkulunkulu empilweni yethu. Iningi labantu eTestamenteni Elidala lalizila ukudla ngesikhathi esibucayi. Akufanele sizile ukudla kuphela ngenxa yezinkinga kodwa futhi ngenjongo. U-Ana wazila ukudla njalo ukuze kufike ukuhlengwa kuka-Israyeli (NgokukaLuka 2:37). Ungalindi ukuthi kuvele izinkinga ngaphambi kokuzila ukudla, kodwa zila ngesikhathi sezinkinga. Lena indlela enhle kakhulu yokuzithoba phambi kukaNkulunkulu.  Ukuzila ukudla kufanele kube indlela yokuphila ejwayelekile. 

Esinye isizathu sokuzila ukudla esokunqoba okungokomoya. Noma ngabe ufuna ukukhululwa noma ufuna ukuhamba ngokunqoba nsuku zonke, thuthukisa indlela yokuphila yokuzila ukudla. Ukuzila ukudla akumsusi uNkulunkulu; kuvele kusihambise endaweni Yakhe yomoya. 

Ukuzila ukudla nokukhuleka kuyizikhali ezibalulekile okufanele uzisebenzise ukuze uthole ukunqoba.  Esikhundleni sokumane ubhekane nezimpawu zezinkinga, sebenzisa lamathuluzi anamandla ukuze ususe umsuka wezindaba ezingokomoya nezingxabano. Ungavele nje ubhekane nezimpawu; bulala izimpande.
