USUKU 4 KWEZINGU- 5

Day 4: Stand On God’s Comfort

This may sound funny, but do you remember having a baby blanket when you were little? My parents still have mine tucked away in a closet somewhere. It was made by a family friend of ours, and I absolutely loved it. Something about being wrapped up in it always made me feel safe. That sense of comfort is how it feels to be in the safety of Jesus’ arms. Thankfully, unlike a baby blanket, Jesus is with us every moment of everyday.

Jesus is the ultimate Comforter. When it feels like life is spiraling out of control, He is there guiding my every step. When I don’t have the words to say, He is my voice and speaks for me. When I am broken-hearted and don’t know where else to turn, I can run to His arms. They are strong, they are loving, and they are always open wide, ready and waiting.

God doesn’t promise that we won’t struggle or walk through pain, but He does promise to hold us through it all. Sometimes we are able to stand with God, and other times we need Him to hold us. You don’t have to walk this season alone, you stand in His arms, because He is the ultimate Comforter.

Reflection and Prayer:

Are you needing comfort right now? What would it look like for you to seek comfort in God and not in other things? Ask God to remind you that He is the ultimate Comforter.
