[1 John Series] I Was There! Isampula
Fellowship with the Father
Today may be a lazy day or it may be a busy day. No matter which direction your day may take you, the most important part of your waking hours is to have fellowship with the Father through Jesus Christ. This means to take the time to share and connect with Him, trusting Him each moment throughout your day.
Do you have a real relationship with God? Do you read your Bible on days besides Sunday? You don’t have to understand every word, but just by getting in it intentionally you will grow into having a real Bible study life, a real prayer life, a real faith life. And this will enable you to have a real family life, a real single life, and a real married life.
That real fellowship comes from the real fellowship with God the Father through Jesus Christ. Fellowship means to connect and have in common. What do you have in common with God? Absolutely nothing. And that’s why He sent Jesus Christ—who was a real man who walked on earth, lived temptations, but never sinned—so that He could die on a cross so He could resurrect from a grave so you and me, as a man, a woman, a teenager, and a kid, could have a real relationship with God, who we have nothing in common with, through Jesus Christ who is our mediator to bring it all together.
What will be the result of this? That our joy may be complete.
The whole thing is about our joy. If you don’t live a real life for Jesus and you don’t ever share Jesus, fellowship with others, or fellowship with God, you are never going to experience real, complete joy. It is that kind of joy that luxuries, possessions, real estate, or fulfilling dreams can’t bring. At least not in a permanent fashion. The Holy Spirit is telling you and me that we have purpose and a relationship with God the Father through Jesus.
If you don’t know for sure that you know Christ and you want to come to know Him, pray this with me: “Jesus, I believe that You are the Savior. I ask You to forgive me of my sins. I believe You died on the cross and rose again for me. I place my faith in You alone for salvation. I want a real encounter with You. Come into my heart and save my soul.”
