Endless Love: Intimacy With GodIsampula
Intimacy with God
Intimacy requires prayer and alone time with God. In other words, it’s spending time allowing God to look “into you and see” your deepest thoughts, feelings, and secrets. Allowing God to have a deeper look isn’t always easy if the relationship between God and His creation is estranged. For this reason, it is vital to spend quality time with God. It is in our alone time with God that we are developed and humbled. God has His way of softening hardened hearts through pure intimacy with Him. He calms the noise and the wavering minds that choose to focus on Him. He establishes His peace in a troubled soul and commands that it stay still. It is through prayer that this form of intimacy is experienced. Intimacy was a part of God’s plan from the beginning. When Adam, the first man, was created he was made in God’s likeness and with a desire to be near to his creator. Adam had unhindered fellowship with God and was able to communicate with Him while being naked and unashamed. God knew everything there was to know about Adam and nothing was hidden from His sight. It is when Adam sinned that all of that changed and mankind lived in secrecy and became distant from God. Yet God went the distance to bring us back into fellowship with Him by allowing His son Jesus to pay the ultimate price for our sins. We now can come into the throne room boldly and spend alone time with our Father in Heaven.
In our intimacy time with God, we can come to Him completely naked and yet unafraid. God already knows our deepest secrets and the worst of our flaws, yet He wants us to trust Him enough to confess it and lay them down at His feet. I find myself asking the same question as David” what is the man that you are mindful of him?” because God seems to draw us to Himself even in times, we are drifting away from Him.
Prayer:
"Father God, I thank you for wanting endless fellowship with me and for accepting me for who I am. Lord God help me to run to you. Amen."

Spending time with God is more than going to church. You serve a God who desires a close and personal relationship with you.
