WORD. A 21-day Reading Plan by Doxa Deo.Isampula
Day 15
The next three chapters are about the last words and prayers of Jesus before He is arrested and crucified.
John 14.
Chapter 14 contains a number of fundamental principles.
- “Do not let your hearts be troubled, do not be afraid, but trust in God…” (John 14:1, 27 NIV)
- Jesus is the only way to the Father; He is the way and the truth and the life. (see John 14:6 )
- We will do the works Jesus did – and even greater things. (see John 14:12)
- If we love Jesus, we will keep His commands. (see John 14:15)
- We will receive the Holy Spirit. He will be with us and in us. He will teach us all things and remind us of everything Jesus taught. (see John 14:16, 17, 25)
Christianity is not merely about heaven as reward, but about restored intimacy with the Father. Mere religion brings distance, but restored relationship brings intimacy and adoption into the family of God. God calls us His sons and daughters.
John 14:18 NIV…… ‘I will not leave you as orphans, I will come to you’
2 Cor. 6:18 NIV “I will be a Father to you, and you will be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”
What does being a son or daughter of the Lord mean to you?
How do you allow the Holy Spirit to teach you ‘all things’?
