El Shaddai, The Lord Almighty Protects Us
God is my strong fortress, and He keeps my way blameless. ―2 Samuel 22:33

A fortress is a strengthened and secure place. It often has high, impenetrable walls designed to protect those within from the dangers of the enemy outside.
David often referred to God as His fortress, his protector from harm, as he frequently fled physical enemies. Though few of us these days have tangible enemies threatening our lives, we do have spiritual enemies. Our enemy, Satan, uses anything he can to keep us from living in the spiritual abundance given to us. He wants to keep us from enjoying God’s gifts and tarnish our testimony of God’s glory. In the fortress of God’s protection, we are safe from the enemy’s flaming arrows.
El Shaddai is your refuge. By His almighty power, He keeps you safe from physical and spiritual enemies. He will hide you in the shelter of His wings. When you find yourself afraid of what circumstances may lead you to, run to your fortress: your Almighty God who enfolds you in His arms of protection.
"I will say of Adonai, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” ―Psalm 91:2
"But let all who take refuge in You rejoice! Let them always shout for joy! You will shelter them, and they exult – those who love Your Name. "―Psalm 5:12
