Awakening: How To PrayIsampula
PRAISE
“Our Father in Heaven, Hallowed (holy) be Your name.”
Max Lucado said, “Our prayers may be awkward. Our attempts may be feeble. But since the power of prayer is in the One who hears it and not in the one who says it, our prayers do make a difference."
Prayer is not about you; prayer is all about God! Understanding that, we should begin with praise, just as Jesus did by telling God He is holy. Praise is the correct posture of prayer and it sets the atmosphere for prayer. Praise says to God, “You are the Father, and I’m your child. You’re my Creator, and I’m the creation. I’m the sinner, and you’re my Savior. You are holy!”
Opening prayer with praise puts us in a position of humility to seek God.

We all agree on the importance of prayer. We know it is a priority in our lives. We hear sermons and teachings on it, and we promise to pray for others. If you’re a follower of Christ, you understand prayer is your access to God. The reality is that we all WANT to pray- but oftentimes, we don’t know how. These next 7 days, we’ll look at the Lord’s prayer and break it down as our example for prayer.
