Jesus, I Need You Part 4預覽
QUIET MOMENT
In this temptation, Satan offers Jesus a shortcut to glory with a hidden detour. If there is such a big display, everyone will know He is the Messiah! He will receive the glory right now, not later. Satan is always ready to offer us a shortcut out of pain or into glory. The question is, do you want God’s glory, His way in His time, or do you want your glory, your way, in your time? What are a few areas in your life where you want quick fixes?
GOING DEEPER
Read the other accounts of Jesus’ temptation in Mark 1:12-13 and Luke 4:1-13. Satan is always waiting for the most opportune moment -- when we are tired, weary, hurt, or lonely. It is at those very times that the enemy comes in to try and accomplish his purposes. But what Satan does for evil, God uses for good. Think of the times when you are most vulnerable to giving into temptation. Are you tired? Have you been through a lot? Has something been eating at you? In what three main areas do you have the most difficulty resisting temptation?
In the midst of trial, temptation, and testing, will I put God to the test or will I trust in Him alone, in His plans, and in His purposes? So often, we want the Lord to show himself in the way that we think makes sense, but He just doesn’t listen to us! He may very well have a plan to accomplish the very thing our heart desires, but He accomplishes it in an entirely different way.
REFLECTION AND PRAYER
Ask yourself, will I trust God and His purposes? Will I serve Him no matter what the trial? How often do you think the enemy tempts you to question whether or not God really loves you or if He even cares about you?
TAKE THE TRUTH TO HEART AND BRING IT TO LIFE
Choose one truth from today and apply it to your heart. Take it with you throughout the day.
關於此計劃
When the enemy comes against us, what can we do? How did Jesus handle being tempted in the wilderness? This is part four of eight in the "Jesus, I Need You" series by Thistlebend Ministries, focusing on drawing closer to Jesus. The plans in this series can be done in any order. See also "Jesus, I Need You" (companion prayer).
