Day 2: Breaking Down Big Goals into Small Steps
Big goals can feel overwhelming, and often, this is where we feel stuck, almost unable to move forward. The key to staying on track is to break our goals down into manageable small steps.
Let’s remember that even small progress is still progress. It doesn’t matter how fast we move; what matters is moving in the right direction.
When we set a goal, it is also important to give it a deadline. Sure, life’s surprises may change that date, but having a set deadline gives us something to work toward over a period of time.
After establishing the date, let’s break the goal into smaller, achievable parts to accomplish on a monthly, weekly, and daily basis. In other words, we break down that big goal into several smaller goals: this exercise allows us to proceed with clarity and order, without letting our anxious thoughts take over, as often happens when we face challenges.
Creating a “goal plan” provides a clear path toward fulfilling our purpose, where each day represents a small victory that brings us closer to our ultimate goal.
In Proverbs 16:3, we find encouragement: “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans”.
Let our daily actions reflect our faith and desire to serve.
Reflection Question:
What small steps can you take today to get closer to your goals?
Prayer:
God, help me be productive and efficient with my time, so I can executive your plan for my life in the best way possible. Guide me in creating a plan that allows me to make daily progress and get closer to Your vision for my life. Amen.
