21 Ways To Thrive By 45預覽
Starve Shame
Shame is a deceiver whispering the worst to you when God longs for you to live with the best of him. Shame has no place for the woman of faith, the woman who knows her worth.
May we not live from a place of shame, lead our families with shame, shame our children or our friends, our co-workers, and those we long for the gospel to transform. The Father is not one to heap shame on you. That’s not his way. He isn’t the source of shame but the answer to it. He sent his Son so we would have freedom from our shame—our humiliation, our indignity, our guilt, and our remorse.
Jesus endured the cross and scorned shame. He didn’t endure shame and scorn the cross. He didn’t reject the life God had called him to, but he did reject shame. We can do the same.
There have been times I’ve had my wires crossed. I’ve found myself enduring shame like it’s my job and rejecting the cross that’s mine to bear. To be like Christ is to reject shame. Starve it. It has no place in our lives as followers of Jesus.
It was for the joy set before him that he endured the cross. There is joy set before us, in every day, in every year, and in every decade. May we walk in the fullness of God to taste the divine joy that has been prepared for us.
In Psalm 34:4-5, the Psalmist reminds us that we’ll never be disappointed when we put our hope in Jesus. We’ll be radiant, not shrouded in shame. In every season may we trust in the One who gave his life so that we many flourish as we live with him and for him.
