5 Powerful Prayers to Impact Our Schools Together預覽
Comfort
At the beginning of the school year, two teens were involved in a tragic accident. One young man survived and the other died. Tammy shared the following story.
Our school prayer team began praying together for the families. Not long after, as we were praying at the high school, a car pulled up and a lady asked, “Are you praying?” We invited her to join us. She continued, “I saw a message that a group would be praying at our school and I need prayer.” She was the mom of the boy who had drowned. Her grief was so heavy. We prayed for her, speaking words of comfort and encouragement.
I texted her later and asked if she would be willing to help me learn Spanish by memorizing scripture together. She was willing and thought this project would help her learn English. We began meeting and memorized Psalm 40:1-3.
A month later tragedy struck again when her cousin’s daughter was killed in a car accident. Through the pain, she was able to share with her family words of comfort and encouragement from the verses we had memorized.
Struggle, trials, and grief are woven into the fabric of every school community. What a privilege to comfort others with the comfort we have received from God.
Today, as we conclude five powerful prayers to impact our schools together, we look to the Lord to transform hearts as we faithfully cover our schools in prayer.
Praise Our God of All Comfort
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort…”II Corinthians 1:3
God, we praise You, the God of all compassion and comfort. You are in control.
Pray for Hearts that Turn to God for Comfort
”Whenever I am anxious and worried, You comfort me and make me glad.” Psalm 94:19
Jesus, we pray that each person in our school community would turn to You during times of difficulty and anxiety.Whether the challenges relate to emotions, health, academics, or relationships, we declare that Your steadfast love will comfort every heart.
We Pray for Hearts that Comfort Others
“…so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.”II Corinthians 1:4
May students take notice of peers and family members who are struggling and show them comfort and compassion. May this comfort strengthen relationships and lead people to Jesus. In Your name, Amen.
