THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT
When was the last time you allowed yourself to think about what you are thinking about? Most of our beliefs about ourselves, life, God, or others started and often solidified in childhood, which is why they are often unconscious beliefs we have that influence much of how we react to life. Becoming intentional about our mindsets is crucial to the journey of change and healing. You can’t change what you don’t know. Hosea 4:6 says that "people perish because of a lack of knowledge," including self-awareness. 1 Corinthians 13:11 clearly instructs us to put away childish things in adulthood, including our mindsets.
Furthermore, our minds are the enemy's battlefield. 2 Corinthians 10:5 tells us to “capture” rebellious thoughts. The Greek word for thought is “Neoma,” which means a thought with an evil intention. Scripture also tells us that the Devil is the father of all lies, so we know he likes to attack our minds with thoughts that have an evil intention - he does this through planting deceptive ideas and lies that are often so subtle that we only notice them when they have grown out of control. Hence the call to capture and bring them to the truth. The problem is if you are not digging into God’s word – the source of truth - regularly, it makes it harder to discern what the lies are.
The biggest lie/scheme of the enemy is to get you to believe who you are is based on behaviour - yours or others. For example, he will turn the behavioural experience of “failing” into the identity lie of “you are a failure” or the experience of being “rejected” into the identity life of “you are unlovable.” If he can get you to agree with the identity lie, he can take you on a destructive path of living that steals, kills, and destroys your value, authority, and purpose in Christ.
QUESTIONS TO CONSIDER
- What do I believe about my value?
- What do I believe about how God sees me?
- What do I believe in general about people around me?
PRAY:
Lord, reveal to me what lie agreements I have made that are robbing me from walking in the fullness of your plan for me. Please show me the deceptive thoughts that influence how I live my life outside of your will for me. Help me take those thoughts captive and teach me to fix my thoughts on your truth. I pray for a deepening hunger for your word. Amen.
關於此計劃
Psalms 18:20-24 says, “GOD made my life complete when I placed all the pieces before him.” Wholeness is a 14-day journey of intentionally learning how to bring all the parts of ourselves before Him - spirit, soul, and body. It is about intentionally building our identity in Christ and not creation.
