Failed Eye Exam
When children get their vision tested in school, they either receive a pass or fail. This indicates whether or not they need to see an eye doctor for a more in-depth evaluation for possible corrective lenses. After the fall, not only was their separation from God, but we also lost our perspective on how we see the earth and ourselves. We need some form of visual correction and we can find it in the word of God. Two common vision problems are a result of poor focus and fear. Both can be corrected by applying God's word to our situation.
When we are focused on something that is not God’s Vision, we can fail our vision exam and lose perspective. The bible reminds us that our heart will follow our treasure. Our treasure is what you spend the most time and focus on. When we get so focused on the creation rather than the Creator, we set ourselves up for having less than what He has prepared for us. One way we can correct this vision problem is to re-view the things we spend our time and attention on and see if it lines up to the things in God's word that he says are of the most importance.
The Fear Factor is another area where we can miss the mark in life and in business. Peter is the only person other than Jesus who walked on water - twice! He walked out to Jesus and then after being rescued he walked back to the boat. Stepping out on faith to fulfill the vision God has given you can be scary, but if He called you out of the boat, He has the power to make provision for you. Once you have summoned the courage to do big things, tenaciously keep your eyes on Him. Storms, tests, taxes, marriage failures, death - all of these things may come, but Jesus will never leave you and will never forsake you.
