Day 3: Praise Jesus
Welcome to a new day. This is the day that the Lord has made, and this is the day we will praise Jesus. What an easy thing it is- because He is so worthy. We praise Him for his teaching, his power, his presence, his wisdom, his ultimate sacrifice, and 1 million other things that spring forth from inside us like a never-ending fountain. We could call those 1 million things: the “other” category. Among the “others” are the things that are personal to you and Jesus. When you first decided to follow Jesus so many things came into focus. He went from “a savior” to “your savior.” He fought the battle with you. He picked you up in a time of despair. He carried you to victory. He talked you out of acting on your temptations. One day you will walk up to Jesus in heaven, and I suspect these are the things that bring tears to your eyes and a smile to your face. Today, we praise our savior.
To God
The Lord says to the one who listens,
“Give me 3 nails, and 2 pieces of wood” and I’ll build you a new life.
“Give me 3 days, and 2 nights,” and I’ll build you a temple.
“Give me 3 handfuls of mud, and 2 blind eyes,” and I’ll show you restoration.
“Give me 3 loaves, and 2 fishes,” and you’ll never hunger again.
“Give me 3 years, and 2 months,” and I’ll teach you to love others.
“Give me 3 rejections, in 2 hours,” and I’ll show you forgiveness.
“Give me 3 nails, and 2 pieces of wood” and I’ll build you a new life.
My saving God,
“I doubted you 3 times, and you said those 2 words that renewed my hope: ‘I am.’”
“3 times I battled the fear of not being enough, but when I realized there were 2 of us- we had the strength to overcome.”
“3 hopeless years withered away, but your 2 footprints were alongside me.”
“I chose 3 things over You Lord, but you took me back in 2 seconds.”
“3 times we laughed until it hurt, 2 times we couldn't hold back the tears.”
“When 3 thousand years passes in heaven, I’ll still know my salvation rests in your 2 hands.”
關於此計劃
In this 6-day devotional, we spend time in praise and worship of God. Consider the authors of the Psalms- they witnessed God in their lives moving in a significant way, and their response was poetic, heart-filled, worship. What would it look like to recognize God's fingerprints on your life and your purpose?
